Damascus Launches "New Damascus Icon" Project with Six Towers and 15,000 Expected Jobs
Syria Holding Company, in cooperation with Damascus Governorate and the Ministry of Tourism, has launched the New Damascus Icon and Damascus Financial Center project in Baramkeh.

Syria has unveiled one of its most ambitious urban and investment projects with the launch of the New Damascus Icon and Damascus Financial Center, developed by Syria Holding Company in cooperation with Damascus Governorate and the Ministry of Tourism. Located in the Baramkeh district of Damascus, the project consists of six modern mixed-use towers integrating financial, commercial, tourism, and service functions within a single development. The project is expected to create approximately 15,000 direct and indirect jobs, making it one of the largest employment-generating initiatives announced in the Syrian capital in recent years. Beyond its architectural significance, the development aims to establish a modern financial hub capable of attracting local and international investment institutions and businesses, supporting Damascus' ambitions to regain its role as a regional business center. Economic observers believe the project reflects Syria's growing reliance on public-private partnerships to accelerate reconstruction efforts and stimulate economic growth. The development is also expected to boost demand across construction, cement, steel, engineering services, hospitality, retail, and financial sectors, creating broader economic benefits over the coming years.
