Damascus prepares for the 63rd International Fair
Preparations are entering their final stage for the 63rd Damascus International Fair, scheduled to take place at the Damascus Fairgrounds from August 26 to September 4, 2026, under the slogan "Syria Shines Again."
Around 1,000 entities representing approximately 60 countries are expected to participate, including Syrian, Arab and international companies, government ministries, public institutions, chambers of commerce, business councils and investment organizations.
Business and investment take priority
The first three days, August 26-28, will be dedicated to businesspeople, investors, companies and official delegations, while public visitor days are scheduled from August 29 to September 4.
The economic program will include B2B and B2G meetings, investment discussions, conferences and opportunities to negotiate memoranda of understanding and commercial agreements.
Key Syrian institutions including the Investment Authority, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank are expected to participate in the business program.
Reconstruction and construction opportunities
Construction is officially listed among the Fair's main sectors, alongside energy and sustainability, technology, industry and production, food, trade and services.
The organizers position the event as a gateway for companies seeking business relationships, government access and opportunities connected with Syria's reconstruction and future development projects.
For construction companies, suppliers and professionals, this could create opportunities in building materials, contracting, engineering services, industrial equipment, energy systems, technology and project-related services.
As of August 22, no comprehensive final list of specific urban development projects to be presented during the Fair has been officially published. Individual project announcements should therefore be treated as confirmed only when released by the relevant authorities during the business days.
Regional participation grows
Saudi Arabia's participation includes an independent "Made in Saudi" pavilion organized with the Saudi Export Development Authority and the Saudi-Syrian Business Council, reflecting growing interest in commercial cooperation with the Syrian market.
Jordanian companies have also been invited to participate through a national pavilion prepared by Jordan Exports.
A broader reconstruction exhibition season
The Damascus International Fair will also be followed by other construction-focused events. IMAR 2026, dedicated to reconstruction, infrastructure, construction and energy, is scheduled for September 13-16, while Project Syria 2026 is scheduled for November 2-5 at the Damascus Fairgrounds.
Together, these events point to an increasingly active business calendar around construction, infrastructure, supply chains and reconstruction opportunities in Syria during the second half of 2026
